Woodend Camp

Team Koru had an action-packed start to Term Two with our camp to Woodend. The children had a wonderful time and were able to experience a range of fun, challenging and new experiences. Thank you kindly to all of our amazing parent helpers - the children loved having you there to share the fun and we would not have been able to go without you!

NZ Writing Project

Room 15 recently took part in a NZ wide writing project where classes were buddied up across the country to write about themselves, their school and their local area.
We were buddied up with Room 1 from Sandspit Road School in Auckland. Here are a few photos of the children reading their postcards and then placing them altogether to create one message for us all - thanks Mrs McDougall and the children of Room 1 for all your awesome writing and interesting facts.

Maths - 2D & 3D Shapes

Room 15 have been exploring  2D and 3D shapes.

We looked at different types of triangles by using a different number of popsicle sticks to make them and then identifying the angles that are contained in each one. We looked at how they changed depending on the number of sticks we used.

The children then made a model showing at least three different 2D shapes.

They drew their shape onto paper and recorded the different shapes/ angles/ popsicle sticks used.
